QUICK OVERVIEW AND A RECIPE

Good morning everyone.  I thought that I would start off by giving you all an idea of what my blog will hopefully include.  I have been a lover of primitives for a few years now!  I have been finding these really amazing bloggers out there that not only craft but, give tutorials on making their beautiful creations.  That, first and foremost, is amazing to me.  How unselfish and so very kind of you all out there.  Thank- you!!!!!!!   What I would like to do with this blog is try to follow and create these tutorials and let you all know how easy or difficult it was to create these wonderful prim goodies.  I am new to sewing on the machine (for real).   Not very good with the computer (my niece set up this blog for me).  Unfortunately, I do not create anything like what I have seen on here.  But, I am not trying to scare you all off.......just trying to be honest with you all and let you know that if I can follow these so can you.  If you are anything at all like me the fear of trying something and failing is greater than just cutting into that fabric and giving it your all.  I am slowly learning that.  Fingers crossed I hope to be successful and hope to maybe inspire some of you, like me, to finally take the plunge!

I love primitives.  I can't say that enough but, I can't afford to go out and buy the things that I love so, this has given me a way to get the things that I love by making them.  It's a win-win for me and for you too.

I will also be posting some recipes on here.  Some of these will be family recipes and others are some I have stumbled across along the way.  I hope that you will enjoy them as much as our family has.

Sorry about the photos......working on gettting a camera to take good pix.  The photos in blog are from my cell phone...told ya I am not a techie by any stretch of the word.haha

And now for the recipe.  This one I made up on my own.  My husband and sister love it.  I hope that you all do as well.

BETTER THAN THANKSGIVING CASSEROLE

1 lg red onion-chopped
1 pkg chicken-cubed
ff catalina salad dressing
1 pkg. frozen peas
1 box stuffing mix
2-3 lg sweet potatoes
salt and pepper and poultry seasoning

Peel and cut sweet potatoes.  Put on to boil so that they can be mashed.

Fry onion in pan with non stick spray, until translucent.  Pour into the bottom of a 9x13 pan coated with non-stick spray.

Put chicken in same fry pan and cook until chicken is done. (season with salt and pepper and some poultry seasoning)  Pour catalina dressing over chicken.  I use enough to make it a little soupy so that it keeps casserole moist.  I cook this on low for another minute or two to let the flavor set in the chicken.  Then pour this over the onions.

I then make up stuffing mix according to box directions, and then pour over chicken.  Open bag of peas and pour them on top of stuffing.  (they do not need to be pre-cooked.  the heat from stuffing and potates will cook them as well as when baked in oven)

By this time potatoes should be ready to mash.  Go ahead and mash those up.  Then top the casserole with sweet potatoes.

I bake this at 350 for 35-40 mins.   yum!

I hope that you all enjoy this.

Have a blessed day and wonderful week-end.
